Supporting Neurodivergent Young People:
National Training with headspace
We’re thrilled to share that our Founder and Director, Dr Shae Wissell, was invited to deliver specialist training with the headspace National Youth Mental Health Foundation as part of their Learning Collab 2025 initiative.
This incredible event brought together over 180 Work and Study staff from across Australia, all committed to enhancing outcomes for young people navigating the challenges of employment, education, and mental health. The collaborative energy and willingness to learn, share and grow were truly inspiring.
Shae’s session focused on neurodivergence in young people—including dyslexia, ADHD, and other cognitive differences—and how these differences can uniquely impact their work and study experiences. The training explored practical strategies for fostering more inclusive, flexible, and empowering support systems that honour neurodivergent strengths while addressing systemic barriers.
“It was an honour to be part of a national conversation that centres young people and their mental health, and to contribute to growing a more neuro-affirming approach across such a passionate and engaged workforce,” Shae shared.
At re:think dyslexia, we know that early intervention and understanding can change lives. We’re proud to support national partners like headspace in building the knowledge and confidence needed to create environments where all young people—not just some, can thrive.
Stay tuned for more collaborations like this as we continue to advocate for neurodivergent inclusion at every stage of life.
